2024
computer-aided product design
all of my projects from my computer-aided product design class. programs used include rhino 8 for modeling, keyshot 2024 for rendering, and grasshopper for creating arrays.
2d measured project
my very first c.a.d. project. the objective of this assignment was to follow a tutorial to create the shapes in rhino 8, and then to use the measuring tool to measure the shapes. it served to ease us into creating 2d shapes and to get familiar with some of rhino's tools.
pull toy project

my very first 3d model created in rhino 8. the objective of this project was to follow a tutorial to create a 3d model of a pull toy. tools used included the ellipse tool, the torus tool, the mirror tool, and the rotate tool.

penguin project

unrendered version. the objective of this project was once again to follow a tutorial to create a 3d model of a penguin, but this time it introduced new tools such as trim, split, and creating a boolean union. we also used rhino 8's rendering features to add lighting and to color the penguin model.

hammer project

unrendered version. the objective of this project was once again to follow a tutorial, but unlike the past two tutorial projects this one did not include specific measurements and we instead had to utilize rhino's tools to make the dimensions correct. tools used include the arc tool, the extrude tool, mirror, fillet edge, and the join tool. this was the first project we rendered in keyshot.

faucet design project

the purpose of this project was to design and model a faucet for a sink using rhino 8 for modeling and keyshot for rendering. after finishing our model, we were to use the 'make 2d' command in rhino to create 2d orthographic drawings of our sink. we were to also add in measurements of our model. in keyshot we were to create scene renders of the faucet as well as a side view and a top view.

scene render. to create the water effect, i made a cylinder in rhino and then in keyshot i gave the cylinder a water texture to give the illusion of the faucet being used.

trade show booth project

the objective of this project was to create a trade show booth for a company of our choice. the booth had to include at least one light source, at least 2 points of access for customers, and a private area for meetings to be held. i chose prismacolor as my company, and created a simple booth with an area for customers to look at their product (colored pencils). we were allowed to use free models from the internet for this project. the ceiling light, chairs, table, and table lamp are free models i downloaded and altered for the purpose of this project. all other models were created by me in rhino 8. the model was rendered in keyshot.

device for eating project

the objective for this project was to create a dining utensil that could theoretically replace a fork, spoon, and knife all at once. i called mine the 'mewtensil', basing it off of a cat. the head served as a spoon, with the ears being the prongs of a fork. i made the forelegs of the cat into two separate knife blades. i gave the utensil bright colors since i intended the design to be used as a child's eating utensil. i created the model in rhino 8 and rendered in keyshot.

packaging project

the objective of this project was to create packaging for one of our previous projects from this class. i chose to create packaging for the 'mewtensil'. the packaging design was illustrated in procreate, with text being added in photoshop. the packaging itself was modeled in rhino 8 with rendering done in keyshot.

grasshoper project
final project

the objective of this project was to create any product of our choosing. i chose to create a simple dog chew toy based off of a video game character from the animal crossing game series. i created the model in rhino, used 'make 2d' to draw the 2-dimensional views, and created my renders in keyshot.
