combination mark

the final project for my intro to graphic design class. the objective of this project was to create a combination mark (symbol + logotype) using only the text tool in adobe photoshop or adobe illustrator. the symbol was to only consist of the first letter of our last name repeated four times in a visually pleasing configuration that showed good use of gestalt, eye flow, and negative space. the logotype could be either our first name only, last name only, first and last name, first name and first initial of our last name, or first initial of our first name and our last name. when the symbol and logotype are put together into a single composition, they are supposed to compliment one another in color scheme, lineweight, typeface, and create effective eyeflow. we were also tasked with creating a secondary version of our combination mark (i created a tertiary version as well), a repeating pattern using our symbol, product mockups using our combination mark, and possible practical uses for our combination mark.

this project was created in adobe photoshop 2024 on an 8.5” x 8.5” with 1” margins.
